Parents and carers receive so many paper letters, unnecessarily. All parents and carers should be emailed and they can ‘ opt in ‘ if they would like a paper copies instead. I usually receive both which is such a waste of paper.

As a concerned parent, I am deeply troubled by the excessive use of paper in our schools.

Every year, EACH school in the UK uses around one million sheets of paper and spends about £60,000 on photocopying, this contributes to environmental degradation.

 A study revealed that 80% of staff working in education admit that reducing paper usage is a significant challenge for the sector.

This wasteful practice needs to stop. It's time for schools to make better use of digital communication methods and reduce their reliance on paper. We propose that schools should only send an email copy of letters unless specifically requested by parents or carers.
