Eliminate i-Ready from Our School Curriculum in Boise, ID

The Issue

As a student in Boise, ID, I have personally experienced the stress and strain caused by the educational software program known as i-Ready. It has not only made learning more difficult for me but also for my fellow students. We are constantly burdened with unnecessary pressure and anxiety due to this program.

i-Ready is marketed as an adaptive diagnostic tool that adjusts according to a student's performance level. However, many students find it frustrating rather than helpful. The software often presents questions that are too challenging or not relevant to what we've learned in class, causing confusion and discouragement.

Moreover, there is a growing body of research suggesting that excessive screen time can negatively impact children's mental health (American Academy of Pediatrics). This concern is particularly relevant considering the increased reliance on digital tools like i-Ready during remote learning periods.

Our plea is simple: we want our school district to reconsider its use of i-Ready. There are alternative teaching methods and resources available that can provide a more balanced and less stressful learning environment for us all.

We urge you to stand with us in our quest for an education system that truly supports its students' needs without causing undue stress or anxiety. Please sign this petition to help eliminate i-Ready from our school curriculum.
