Petition updateNo East Mids Intercity service cuts from 2019. Electrify Midland Mainline!
Lot's to celebrate... ...but more to do.

Today's announcements about the new East Midlands franchise show we have scored several MAJOR victories. There will still be Intercity trains for Bedford, Wellingborough, Corby, Oakham and Melton Mowbray!
Oakham and Melton Mowbray will still have one train per day in each direction to/from St Pancras via Corby.
Bedford, Wellingborough and intermediate stations will also have "peak time calls at stations between Leicester and Bedford in the counter-peak direction, maintaining some direct journeys between stations intercity route."
No, we haven't got everything we wanted, but we have got enough to announce a major victory!

This doesn't mean the campaign is stopping:
1) by the looks of it this means there still will be no off-peak (or with-the-peak) services between Luton, Bedford, Wellingborough and Leicester or beyond
2) just at the moment the passengers of Bedford, Luton and intermediate stations are suffering massive problems that we are campaigning on, saying #ThisHasGotToStop
3) Electrification still looks like it is stopping at Kettering
4) they still plan to split Liverpool-Norwich services so there will no longer be through trains from Peterborough/Grantham (or stations between Nottingham and Norwich) to Ilkeston/Alfreton/Chesterfield/Sheffiled and beyond (or vice versa).
So, if you appreciate the time and effort that has gone into getting us here, or if you would like to help the campaign continue, please fill in https://goo.gl/forms/1xlXN3U0tvbnI7WE2, or email info@saveourtrains.co.uk. The campaign has cost me a LOT (mainly in terms of countless hours spent), so if you can contribute financially, it would be particularly appreciated.
