9,500 signatures - other petitions, facebook pages and groups

So, as we pass the last milepost before 10,000 signatures, I’m hopeful that today (Wednesday) I will get a (too brief) opportunity to make our case to the rail minister, face-to-face. This opportunity is a key step on the way to success - only a step, though. And the sheer number of us has been part of that. We share some aims with two other petitions that I would like you to sign and share, please: the newer petition at SaveOurTrains.co.uk, which is about the train service between StPancras, Bedford, Northamptonshire, Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield between May this year and 2020 (or so) - PLEASE check you have signed it. Less than half of us have! And the petition at https://www.change.org/p/step-free-access-for-rail-users-in-bedfordshire-now which, like this petition, calls for improvements at Bedford and Luton stations, which would make Luton station wheelchair accessible. The picture illustrates the mess that is the current Luton station, and if you look under the footbridge, you will see – no liftshaft - it needs rebuilding with the ability to cope with more trains, and with access for all – whether disabled, with luggage, with a pram – whatever! Please support that petition. The petition currently at SaveOurTrains.co.uk is not far from getting to the 5,000 signature mark, while the petition about access improvements to stations is even closer than us – it needs less than 300 signatures - to reaching 10,000.
