Action Needed!!!
Calling all Fredericksburg Inner Connector, Trail Network and Park Supporters!!!
At 3:00 PM on Tuesday September 6, 2022 the Stafford Board of Supervisors is set to vote on a letter to the Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (FAMPO) that supports a study for a Rappahannock River Crossing on the West Side of I-95.
At the May FAMPO meeting 29 comments were read aloud that supportedthe Fredericksburg Area Inner Connector and Trail Network.
Here is the FAMPO Comments link https://www.fampo.gwregion.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/UPWP-Public-comments.pdf
In July I emailed the Supervisors an additional 170 comments out of over 4,400 Supports of the Inner Connector and Trail Network.
In August the Three FAMPO Representatives on the Stafford Board of Supervisors (Vanuch, Bomke and Gary) requested a letter to study a River crossing West of I-95 be put on the September 6, 2022 agenda to be voted on by the entire Board.
Three of the Supervisors were reluctant to support it. One of them basically said that the improvements are not in my district, so I can't support it. Supervisor English wasn't at the meeting and will be the swing vote that is needed for the letter to be approved. He did vote for the Comprehensive Plan last year, which included the Park at Cannon Ridge and the Inner Connector when he was on the Planning Commission.
I will be speaking at the 3:00 pm meeting on Tuesday. I'm asking for other supporters to speak and to email the Stafford Supervisors.
