Connecting Our Regions Transportation Infrastructure to form a New North to South Local Road with a Trail.
Our region has Hundreds of Millions of Dollars in Underutilized Transportation Infrastructure that is going to waste while we sit in Traffic. It's time we put it to use to build a new local road.
All new roads have opposition. Our elected officials don't want to create controversy. That's why there has only been three new road segments built in our region in 30 years, other than roads built by developers on their land (Blue and Gray Pkwy, Cowan Blvd and Centreport Pkwy). Centreport Pkwy was even built to accommodate a regional road.
Our elected regional officials are in the process of approving the 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan, but this plan is proposing NO NEW ROADS for the next 25 YEARS. We must not let that happen!
Here's the link to the Draft 2045 NO NEW ROAD PLAN.
The Public comment period for the Draft 2045 Constrained Long-Range Plan (CLRP) is open until April 2nd.
Please email your comments to fampo@gwregion.org . Tell them "Our Region needs a New Road with a Trail on the West side of I-95."

I want to thank the over 1,400 supporters. Our voices must be heard loud and clear!!!
With Oil Prices Down Now is the time to build New Roads.
Asphalt is made up of high amounts of tar and Petroleum. The heavy equipment used to build roads and transport construction materials consumes large amounts of gasoline and petroleum. I suggest that VDOT rebid and lower the cost estimates on all the projects in the CLRP and to use those savings to build a New local North to South Road in our region.
The New road will greatly improve our Regional Transportation Grid, Reduce Traffic Congestion on a 16 mile stretch of Route 1, Reduce Emissions, Reduce Traffic on the most congested sections of Route 630, Route 17, Route 3 and many other Existing Roads.
LET'S GET IT DONE!!!!
