In these dark and unprecedented times, the need for new, dynamic leadership within the US House of Representatives, especially on the influential Oversight Committee, could not be clearer. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, with a natural talent for communication and connecting with everyday Americans, represents the change and vigor that is desperately needed. Furthermore, AOC is routinely polled as one of the most well known and popular Democratic politicians in the country, far outpacing Sen. Schumer or Rep. Jeffries, making her an effective messenger on the issues important to the Democratic party.

Her hands-on approach to politics, combined with her media savvy, ensures that Donald Trump can't dictate the entire narrative of the country.

The Oversight Committee is uniquely positioned to expose the corruption of the Trump Administration and hold Trump and his appointees to account for their crimes against our country, and we need to make sure that Democratic leadership on the committee reflects the needs of the country and the desires of the Democratic base, not arcane House traditions around seniority. 

We urge the House Democratic Caucus to heed the lessons of the 2024 election, understand the dire situation we are in, and do the right thing to put the country over personal ambition. There are many talented and competent Democratic members of the House, but not everyone can be committee leadership -- we need a bold Ranking Member with a proven track record of mobilizing and inspiring American citizens, and that person is Rep.
