First of all a huge thank you to all the supporters of Karin and Amr's cause. We have almost 1700 signatures now and the petition has been shared many times, thank you for making that happen!
However, we would like to ask you to continue actively sharing the petition. Karin and Amr are still communicating with government bodies to try convince them to consider alternatives to demolishing their home. If there is anyone with contacts to the South Sinai governorate or the minister of Environment that could assist, please step forward!
In addition to that, we would like to shed light on another home threatened to be demolished in the same area. The house is located behind the house of Amr and Karin and is an eco- or sustainable house. The house is made of natural and recycled materials such as sand, clay & rock-filled car tires and powered by solar energy. The building doesn’t put a strain on the environment, it’s safe, resistant to shock, even earthquakes, and it’s in harmony with the surrounding landscape. It is a unique, one-of-a-kind house in Egypt, a possible example of future, sustainable housing. By destroying these homes, Egypt would lose a unique sustainable building from which, as far as we know, there is no second one in the country. This type of green, sustainable building is important for the future. A belief that the Egyptian government shares as well.
Help us to get the government to look into these unique homes, where they pose no threat to government, environment or community. We would love to invite the governor and minister to visit these homes and decide if demolishing really is in the best interest of all, just to enforce "law". There are always exceptions the law should not apply to. Please keep signing and sharing!
احب ان اشكر كل من أيد عمرو و كارين. لقد حصلنا علي 1700 توقيع وتمت المشاركه عدة مرات. نشكركم ي و نسألكم ان تستمروا في تأيدهم بالمشاركه لان مشاركتكم كانت العامل الاهم والسبب في بدأ التفاوض مع المسؤلين لاقناعهم بحلول اخري بدلا من هدم منزلهم. اذا كان يوجد شخص له اتصالات او علاقات بالمسؤلين في محافظة جنوب سيناء او وزارة البيئه فنرجوه التقدم بالمساعده. كذلك نود ان نلفت الانظار لمنزل اخر يهددون بهدمه.هو يقع في نفس المنطقه خلف منزل عمرو و كارين وهو منزل مستدام و صديق للبيئه , مبني بمواد طبيعيه مثل الرمال والطين و اطارات السيارات الممتلئه بالصخورو كذلك يستخدم الطاقه الشمسيه. المنزل صديق للبيئه وهو آمن تماما ومقاوم للصدمات والزلازل و متماشي مع الطبيعه حوله.انه منزل مميز و ممكن اعتباره مثال لمنازل المستقبل في هذه المنطقه. بهدم هذان المنزلان, فاننا سنفقد منازل مستدامة صديق للبيئه وعلي قدر علمنا ليس له مثيل في مصر.هذا النوع من المنازل المستدامه الصديقه للبيئه هامه جدا للمستقبل, نعتقد ان هذا هو الاتجاه الحالي للحكومه في مصر. ساعدونا للفت انظار الحكومه لهذان المنزلان المميزان اللذان لا يشكلان اي تهديد للبيئه او المجتمع. ونحن نود و نؤكد انه لو قام سيادة الوزير او المحافظ بزيارة هذان المنزلان لما ترددا في الغاء قرار الهدم . دائما الاشياء المميزه يكون لها اعفاءات من القوانين الصارمه.
