Egypt initiates statements condemning killing dogs

The government of Egypt makes statements that poisoning of dogs is not a good idea as they control the snakes in communities. The problem is there is a lack of enforcement and the government itself is committing these atrocities. There are millions of dogs roaming the streets in Egypt mostly due to lack of spaying, beliefs that dogs are unclean, beliefs dogs don't belong in a house. So these dogs walk aimlessly in the streets where there is no food or water or shelter for them. They are routinely abused in horrific manners. Many street are often taken out to the desert and abandoned there with a grim fate of dying of starvation. The government needs to initiate and help do spay campaigns. Poisoning dogs is not a solution. It is cruelty of the worst kind as they use strychnine. Strychnine causes lung paralysis and a slow, torturous death. Continue to share this petition on all social media sites. We are the only voice and hope for these poor dogs suffering in Egypt. There are no concrete laws condemning or forbidding poisoning of dogs. There needs to be clear, concise laws to protect these dogs. This is an uphill battle to change a culture that abhors and hates dogs. There are some people who even believe animals feel no pain. Some also think spaying is unnatural. Dog fighting is still occuring at Friday markets in Giza and Alexandria. Children attend and participate in the dog fights. This is brutality and barbaric. Children commonly abuse animals. It is something they learn growing up in a society that has no empathy for these street dogs. It is terrible. Sign and share petition. The photo is of dogs recently poisoned to death. There were 10 dogs that a local resident was feeding that were killed purposely and maliciously with poison. This cannot stand. It is a travesty. Egypt must move to take action and write and enforce laws prohibiting abuse of animals and take action to protect the dogs and do spay campaigns. This is the only realistic solution. Many foreigners help pay to spay dogs in Egypt but there just is not enough help. It is the government job to finally once and for all address this issue.
