You have all been so amazing! I am happy to say that the hospital is now allowing exceptions to their visitor policy for certified doulas. This still requires the patient to advocate for their doula to be allowed as the official policy remains unchanged on the Edward-Elmhurst website.

We could not have achieved this without the support of the community, word-of-mouth, all the people who shared the petition and the support of the birth and mom communities here in Chicagoland. 

This shows the power of advocating for better birth experiences and for the needs of women in labor. I am so so grateful for all the support and the awareness that it raised on this issue! Keep raising your voice for important causes!
