The Truth

I was up all night thinking about how I'm going to pay back my school loans and I realized that the interest rate on the is higher than the interest on my house and my car! The government claims how important going to school is and then they charge you and arm and a leg to go and tack on so much interest that you will never be able to pay it back before your dead. These loans are enough to drive a person over the edge. Essentially every payment for the next 5-10 yrs will only cover the interest. People wonder why there are so many Go Fund Me accounts for this, that is why! Students realize they will never catch up or get ahead without help. There are currently 36 million people with outstanding student loans and 8.8 are in default due to people not being able to afford the payments. Student loan debt has surpassed $1 trillion and keeps climbing. People love to say, why take out loans you can't afford or why did you choose such an expensive school, well, if you don't know their circumstances then perhaps you should rethink your train of thought. I am a single mother, working full time and could not physically attend a school, I had to go online to make it work which limited my options quite a bit. In addition, my school used false advertising to lure students in, this is why the FTC is prosecuting them right now. There are many factors that play into the decisions and the outcomes of those decisions. Lets stop judging and make a change before more students and graduates become statistics in more ways than 1.
