Female Montgomery County ISD Police Officer Wrongfully Accused of Domestic Violence

I have a few questions about this story. Let me know what you think, what your opinions are, or any questions or thoughts you have.

1.       Would Channel 13 news, or society be as empathetic in their portrayal of the person wrongfully accused/arrested for domestic violence if the wrongfully accused/arrested had been a male instead of a female?

2.       Would Channel 13 news, or society be as empathetic in their portrayal of the person wrongfully accused/arrested for domestic violence if the wrongfully accused/arrested had not been a police officer instead they were a teacher, a Walmart cashier, city bus driver etc.?

3.       Would this female police officer who was wrongfully accused/arrested for domestic violence, and ultimately found innocent of the charges she was arrested for, be any more or less guilty had she not had the money to pay her attorney fees for the 20 month long battle of defending her innocence?

4.       The person who called the police and made the domestic assault complaint against this female officer is also a police officer himself, a detective for the Montgomery County sheriff’s department. If police officers are falsifying domestic violence charges, why does it appear to be so hard to believe that a nonpolice officer (common person) wouldn’t or doesn’t make false domestic violence charges?

5.       If it is against the law to file false police reports should the person who filed a false domestic violence charge be arrested or penalized in the same manner which the accused had been affected?

6.       Why does the district attorney’s office not automatically pick up the charges against the person who made the inaccurate police reports in the same manner which they pick up the charges against the accused?
