LEPPINGTON STATION UPDATE - Construction is now complete on the new multi-storey car park at Leppington Station.

I am pleased to be able to finally bring you the news that the Multi-Level Carpark at Leppington Station has finally been completed and was officially opened on Monday the 22nd November 2021. Parking in the new multi-storey car park will be free to commuters. From mid-December, the Transport Park & Ride boom gates will provide up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport journey by tapping on and off using an accepted Opal card.

I would suggest that if you want to have a look around the new Carpark at Leppington Station you do it in the next couple of weeks before the boom gates go up.

Also I have sent an email to Mr Sidgreaves expressing my concerns regarding potential safety concerns at night given the distance from the Station to the Car Park. I would encourage you all to do that also if you are concerned.

Perhaps we should be asking for at least a covered walkway from the carpark to the Station like the one at Glenfield Station. There have been suggestions that a shuttle bus is needed to ferry Commuters from the car park to the Station and back again.

COMMUTERS PLEASE NOTE that the Temporary Carpark on Rickard road will be closing from the 27th November 2021.

EDMONDSON PARK STATION – Work is continuing to finish the Southern Carpark which will hopefully open in early 2022.

LOCAL COUNCIL ELECTIONS

As you are aware the Local Council Elections are due to be held on the 4th December 2021 and Pre Polling is open now at 5 locations around Liverpool. The campaign to extend the South West Rail Link will continue in 2022 after the Council elections are over and the Christmas / New Year Holidays are over.
