Good Morning Fellow Residents, Commuters and Petition Supporters
After the Media release made by Peter Sidgreaves MP for Camden on Friday afternoon the 12th June 2020 announcing that A W Edwards had been appointed the Lead Contractor and that Geotechnical work would be carried out in coming weeks I contacted Projects @ Transport for NSW to again attempt and obtain Information regarding the Temporary Car Parks that have been promised and are supposed to be provided during Construction of the Multi Level car parks at both Leppington and Edmondson Park Stations.

I am wondering if you have any news about the Temporary Carpark to be provided during construction.
"Transport for NSW is finalising plans for the temporary parking and more information will be shared with the community soon."
Also how are the construction plans coming along?
When will they be finished?
When do you expect them to be approved?

Hi Michael,
Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding Leppington and Edmondson Park commuter car park projects.
During construction of both Leppington and Edmondson Park commuter car parks, some spaces in the existing at-grade car parks will be removed in order to complete the work safely.
TfNSW is working with key stakeholders to finalise plans for the temporary car parking arrangements at both stations, and we will provide the community with an update in the coming weeks.
Both projects have received planning approval and the relevant documents can be viewed at the following links:
· Edmondson Park
· Leppington
We are currently undertaking the detailed design work for both projects before major construction begins mid-year.
We will continue to keep you and the community informed with regular updates as the projects progress. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at projects@transport.nsw.gov.au.

At Leppington it won't be such an issue however at Edmondson Park it will be as the whole southern Carpark will need to be closed and that's around 200 car spaces, which will have a major impact on parking in the area.
Can you provide more detailed information about temporary Carparking at Edmondson Park Station please?

Here we are still waiting patiently.
Remember 6 months ago we were told that the NSW State Government would provide temporary parking spaces during the Construction of the new 2000 space Multi Level Car Park at Edmondson Park Station?

The last Update from Transport for NSW was on 22nd May 2020
We are still waiting to be advised of where the temporary Carpark will be and when it will be provided.
I did email Projects at Transport for NSW on the 12th June but they sent back a non specific reply
I am wondering if you are able to shed any light as to when Commuters at Edmondson Park Station might be able to expect the temporary Carpark promised by to them and where it might be located as the Construction plans for the new multi level car park are due to be formally approved in the near future as its almost mid 2020.

Thanks for your follow up emails.
Transport for NSW is finalising plans for temporary parking at both Leppington and Edmondson Park to minimise any inconvenience to our customers during the construction of the new multi-storey car parks.
As mentioned in my previous reply, we are undertaking detailed design work before major construction begins mid-year.
With regard to the geotechnical work at Leppington mentioned in the media release, this work will take place to the west of the existing northern commuter car park and will begin in the coming weeks. This work will not impact on any car parking spaces in the existing car park.
We will provide more information regarding temporary parking facilities as soon as possible. We look forward to delivering these important transport projects for the communities of South West Sydney.

So there you have it there is still no real news about the temporary Car Parks and while the announcements continue the work is yet to commence and only 10 days to go until June 30 which is the mid 2020.

Your Help is still needed to collect signatures for the new paper petition to extend the South West Rail Link from Leppington Station to the new Airport now.
I have changed the Car Parking Crisis Petition main Picture to ask for an extension of the South West Rail Link from Leppington Station to Airport with at least three stations NOW.
