Good Morning Fellow Residents, Commuters and Petition Supporters

It's been 5 months now since the Election Promises regarding Car Parking at Edmondson Park and Leppington Stations have been made and I have been patiently waiting on news that things would move forward.

I was disappointed when the Budget was announced in June and while there was an announcement on funds it will be over the next 4 years.

This is an email that I sent to the 5 local  MPs on the 1st July 2019

Subject: Ed Park and Leppington Car Parking Solutions

Good Morning Ms Gibbons, Mr Chanthivong, Mr Sidgreaves, Ms Davies and Mr Lynch.

A belated congratulations to everyone on your Election wins back in March snd Ms Stanley in May.

With the State Budget having been brought down I have a couple of questions with regard to the timing and provision of the the Governments Election promises in relation to the Car Parking Crisis at Edmondson Park and Leppington Stations.

It would be greatly appreciated if Ms Gibbons could provide answers regarding
Edmondson Park and Mr Sidgreaves regarding Leppington.

From what I have read there has been $300 million allocated to provide additional parking at a number of stations over the next 4 years.
In the 2018 budget an amount of $500,000 was allocated to carry out investigations into providing a consultants reports for solutions to the Car Parking issues.
Have those reports been done?
What was the outcome of the reports?
Are the reports available to the public?

Four years for additional car parking to be provided is completely UNACCEPTABLE.
I have also read that now an additional $212,000 has been allocated for consultants reports at Leppington in the 2019 budget.
How many more reports does the Government need before it acts to fix  the problem?
Has a timetable been set to commence the process of building a Multi Level Carpark at Edmondson Park Station?
Has a site been selected yet?
Have plans been prepared?
Are tenders for construction being called for ?
If not what is the timetable for these matters to be addressed?
I look forward to a prompt reply so I can advise the almost 7500 Car Parking Crisis Petition supporters with some answers.
Yours Sincerely

THIS IS THE REPLY RECEIVED from Mr Peter Sidgreaves MP for Camden on the 22nd July 2019

Michael

Thank you for your email regarding an update on the proposed extension to the commuter car park at Leppington Train Station.

You are correct regarding your comment on the additional $212,000 allocated for the planning of the car park.

I think it is worth noting that after some reconfiguration of the original plan another additional 70 car spaces will be created.

The timeline announced in the budget of 4 years is because the $300 million includes commuter car parks for 12 train stations.

Government agencies, landowners and Councils need to be included in the planning and I have been advised the plans are progressing for the commuter car park.

Transport for NSW has advised me updates on the progress of the planning will soon be published on their website.
