Good Morning Fellow Residents, Commuters and Petition Supporters

You May have seen me at Edmondson Park, Glenfield or Holsworthy Stations Last week and then at Leppington Station this week collecting Signatures on Paper Petitions and many have asked WHY when over 7000 people have signed the Online Petition already.

The answer is in NSW Legislation - technically the Online Petition doesn't count in Parliament. ( you can read the rules here https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/la/petitions/Pages/About-petitions.aspx )

SO to Have OUR VOICES heard in Parliament we must lodge a Paper Petition with Original Signatures and addresses via a Local Member of Parliament as per the rules.

IF there is a Petition with 500 or More Signatures then the Minister is required to lodge, with the Clerk, a response to the petition. The response, from the Minister, must be received within 35 calendar days from the date a petition is received.

So since there are 6 Electorates that are affected by the Car Parking Crisis, with 6 local MP's it seems only right that we lodge 6 Paper Petitions of just over 500 signatures, addressing issues from each electorate.

PAPER PETITION PROGRESS REPORT

Petition 1 is CLOSED

During the week 24th to 28th October 2018 (with the assistance of Kristen and Manish) we obtained 560 Signatures from Edmondson Park, Glenfield and Holsworthy Stations - I will present that Petition to Anulach Chantivong Member for Macquarie Fields as the majority of Signatures are from his Electorate.

This Petition will go to Chris Patterson Member for Camden.
