Hello everyone from snowy Tupper Lake, home of the best skiing and sliding south of the Raquette River.  Today we surpassed 6,600 signatures and I sent a short note to the Governor via the social network Linkedin.  We are building the case to take back our mountain and return it to the public domain.  The taxpayers of Tupper Lake originally built Big Tupper in the early 1960's because the leaders of our community saw the need to transition our local economy from manufacturing to tourism. 

Ski Big Tupper was a true community effort back then and when it opened in 1961, it was a testament to the 'can do spirit' of our small Adirondack community!  From what I recall, the Town borrowed $600,000 to invest in the project, not a small sum at that time.  For over 20 years now our beloved ski slope has been in limbo and we can't stay silent any longer...it is time to reclaim this strategic recreational asset for the betterment of our regional economy and quality of life.  When you have a moment, read the editorial from the Press Republican published today.
