Ban the Confederate flag from Ebensburg town sanctioned events.

Ban the Confederate flag from Ebensburg town sanctioned events.
The Issue
***Please disregard the request for the $7.00 agenda. That is something that Change.org is requesting to support their online platform.
By allowing the Confederate flag at town sanctioned events the actions of a few take away from activities where families and children celebrate our veterans who fought for the liberty and freedom our nation enjoys today. The confederate flag was designed to represent a divided nation. Pennsylvania was never in the Confederacy and the veterans we honor from our community fought for the Union. The flag is a symbol embraced by hate groups and represents racism, slavery, rejection, and division.
Individuals do have the right to wave that flag. However, during town events and areas decorated by the municipality, we must as a Borough show our belief in unity and inclusion in our community by banning the Confederate flag.
The United States House of Representatives voted to ban the display of Confederate flags on flagpoles at Veterans Administration cemeteries. The flag is banned from the Pennsylvania State Capitol building. Marine Corps has banned the public display of the Confederate battle flag. Many other institutions and small towns similar to Ebensburg have also banned the Confederate flag.
The Confederate Flag is today a symbol that is dividing individuals, populations, and now our community. Help us take action today by asking our borough to ban the flag from Ebensburg events! Please share this petition with others, thank you.
