The Ebensburg Town Council has made efforts to denouce the Confederate Flag display and is working towards absolving themselves from conducting town events. Below are some of the updates that have occured:

-The council has met with members of Inclusive Ebensburg to discuss the possible formation of a Diversity Committee as part of the borough’s government.

-Town Council has posted a resolution to condemn the displaying of the Confederate battle flag on their website and I have attached it to this update. This resolution along with others are expected to pass at the next Ebensburg Town Council meeting later this month. 

-A resolution divesting the borough from any organizational role in any parade or event; to amend the borough’s relationship with the Ebensburg Main Street Partnership so that the latter group’s board is no longer appointed by the council; and to develop an operating agreement with the Ebensburg Main Street Partnership that will set out the future relationship between the two groups.

-Future parades and other events in Ebensburg would be organized by private groups such as the Ebensburg Main Street Partnership that can legally impose content restrictions at their discretion.
