Suggested letter text (but please do personalise as much as you like) :

Dear X,

You are invited to a Cross Party Roundtable hosted by myself, Mental Health Campaigner and Founder of the #DumpTheScales Campaign, Hope Virgo to launch the Social Cost of Eating Disorders in the UK.

Date: Wednesday 10th November 11.00 - 12.00. (On zoom)

A groundbreaking report analysed by EY has evidenced a staggering £9.4 billion was spent on eating disorders in the UK in 2020.
Across the UK, the cost of carers for those with anorexia and bulimia was £7.2 billion – an increase from £6.7 billion in 2019. The cost of eating disorders on productivity in England was £4.1 billion and healthcare costs amounted to £1.4 billion.

Over the pandemic we have seen huge increases in people affected by eating disorders, children's admissions are soaring, men age 34-44 have had a five fold increase in diagnosis and what was already a broken system is one that has fallen to it's knees.

Eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder and other specified feeding or eating disorders, are responsible for more loss of life than any other mental health condition, and they are becoming increasingly more common. This is an issue that will effect your consituency, needs cross party support and a proper plan of action to save money on the economy, save lives and ensure the NHS does not become overwhelmed.

As my local MP having you there is really important to me. And a matter as urgent as this needs your support.

Please RSVP to Hope Virgo directly
