Dear Friend of Giffnock,
By saving Huntly Park, we have now shown what can be done when we listen to each other, organise ourselves and communicate effectively.
If we are going to create the community we want to live in, there is much else still to be done. A community led café in Huntly Park is something we are campaigning for through our petition and we must keep it on the agenda by increasing support.
There are many other parts of Giffnock life we can influence. For example, there are plans to build a new sports centre in Eastwood Park. I asked about squash and racquetball courts and I was told that they are not part of the plan. I'm not sure why not. Barrhead has public squash courts. Why not here in Giffnock too?
