Thank you for your interest in our petition against the proposed Prologis warehouse/distribution center in Parkrose/East Portland. We are excited to share that students and members of the community will go before the Portland City Council on May 3rd to voice our opposition to this development. You can support our efforts by writing to cctestimony@portlandoregon.gov. Please express your opposition to the warehouse project and urge City leaders to find a better use for this site ahead of the May 3rd meeting. 

Our students expect more from city leaders than merely saying, "There's nothing we can do" or "We will look into it." The proposed development will have direct negative impacts on our students' health where they live, study, and play. Additionally, the jobs this development brings will likely be replaced by robotics, leaving a lasting environmental impact long after the jobs are gone.

Parkrose/East Portland has an incredible opportunity to bring about real economic change and hope for our students. We must not squander this potential site on yet another freight warehouse, especially when a 90-bay freight warehouse is nearing completion just seven blocks away at NE 138th.

Let city leaders know they have a role to play in helping our students and community thrive. We are a neighborhood, not an industrial zone. Together, we can make a difference and protect the future of Parkrose and East Portland.
