Before I say anything at all, I want to post a link to the first article in a series that will tell the full story of everything that led up to the tragic events of last October and November.  Go ahead and skip the rest of this update if you like, but PLEASE READ THAT ARTICLE!

I am sorry for the long delay between posts.  The 25 February meeting of EBRPD's Natural and Cultural Resources Committee meeting left me with a lot of questions and concerns.  The so-called "2021 Feral Cat Fact Finding Report" that EBRPD released that day worried me further.  Suffice it to say, that report was startlingly short on facts.  I didn't want to post an update until I could present the full story, but the more I dug, the deeper the rabbit hole revealed itself to be.  This story was well beyond my ability to tell.  Even in the early days of this petition, I wished that all of you could receive your updates from a real writer, a real reporter, instead of from me.  I have been in over my head from the start.  

I cannot begin to express my gratitude to the author of the Pain in the Bud blog.  He refers to himself as "Buddy's human servant" but he is also "a career journalist with more than 15 years’ experience covering crime, technology, politics and public policy."  He is committed to exposing the truth, and I will post updates here any time he posts a new article in the series.
