First of all, THANK YOU for more than doubling our response to this petition overnight! Our goal is to collect at least 250 signatures before presenting to the school board.
Second, we want to support you in spreading the word by offering additional information. Here are some of the questions we've received so far:
Q: Is this a political issue?
A: No. ZeroEyes is not about gun control or politics — it’s about safety and response time. The company works closely with both Republican and Democratic leaders at the federal and state level, and it holds a Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act designation as qualified anti-terrorism technology. The goal isn’t to debate who should or shouldn’t have guns, but to make sure that if a firearm is brought into our school, we know about it immediately. Faster detection means faster response — and that can save lives.
Q: Why do we even need this petition?
A: When ZeroEyes was first offered to our school at no cost, the executive director declined, stating he didn’t feel the school community would be receptive. This petition is our chance as parents to show otherwise. By collecting signatures, we can demonstrate real support and provide the school board with clear data that families do want this technology considered for our children’s safety.
Q: Why do we need this technology if nothing has happened at our school?
A: The goal is prevention. We can’t predict when or where threats will happen, but we know seconds matter. Having this system in place means we’re prepared, not reactive.
*We will be hosting a Zoom Webinar for parents on Thursday, October 2nd at 7pm, so please bring any of your concerns and questions. We'll record the session for anyone unable to attend.
Last, here's our ask. Spread the word. We want parents to be aware of this incredible technology we have the opportunity to bring to our school. Here's how:
- Send a link to the petition to other parents at the school: Bring ZeroEyes to CSD
- Share the petition on your social media.
- Share this video: Save Time, Save Lives
- Consider joining us at the school board meeting on Tuesday, October 14th at 6:30pm. RSVP through our Facebook event page: Stand Together for School Safety
