Students at local schools want to express their individuality with piercings... It's not changing the uniform drastically, but instead allowing pupils to feel happier in their own skin. 

If things don't change now, pupils who want to wear studs higher up their ear lobes will CONTINUE to have their confidence lowered by teachers. How many staff members have their own Helix , or Conch peircing but have told students off for it? 

My opinion is that piercings are a brilliant way for people to show their true colours, without putting pressure on anyone (like a non-uniform policy would). These changes are not drastic at all and earrings would be removed for PE lessons as usual.
