Dear Warren Farm Nature Reserve supporter,

We are delighted to share with you news that countryside charity CPRE London has announced Warren Farm Nature Reserve as one of Ten New Parks they want to see created in London, including our meadows as part of their incredible campaign. CPRE London will be gaining commitments from candidates for the London Mayoral Elections and relevant boroughs to work with local groups like us, transforming neglected spaces under threat of being developed or lost, into useful new parks instead.

This partnership between two charities, the Brent River & Canal Society (BRCS) and CPRE London, will together help to inform and inspire politicians at both borough and London-wide level, showing that by creating Warren Farm Nature Reserve, we will be safeguarding our meadows for both people and wildlife, now and for future generations to enjoy.

"London has just half the green space it needs for a population its size, and yet has so many green spaces which are being neglected, ignored, or at risk of being lost forever. CPRE London’s Ten New Parks Campaign aims to support local groups in getting some of these green spaces back into use by the local population. Warren Farm Nature Reserve, a large area of abandoned former playing fields and land, was at risk of being given away but now, in cooperation with the local charity the Brent River & Canal Society, this unique rewilded space does not have to be lost and can be a jewel for nature and physical activity for years to come as a Local Nature Reserve." - Alice Roberts – Head of Green Space Campaigns, CPRE London.
