Dear Warren Farm Nature Reserve supporters,

An astounding petition update and some very positive news to see us all into the weekend. 

OVER 1700 SIGNATURES AND GROWING. Thanks to you caring, signing and sharing, our petition has flown above 1700 signatures in just 72 hours. To help us reach the next target of 2500 we still need your help! Please continue to share the petition with friends, family and work colleagues and please encourage them to do the same! Every signature added gives a voice to nature and helps us show Ealing Council the strength of support there is to designate Warren Farm NR and the surrounding Brent River Park Meadows with Local Nature Reserve status. Together we can fly even higher! 

EALING COUNCIL AGREE TO AUTUMNAL MEADOW CUTS. In some very positive news this evening, the Brent River & Canal Society (BRCS) - whose vision we are supporting - were delighted to announce that Ealing Council have agreed to carry out regular autumn hay cuts on Warren Farm at the same time as the other surrounding Brent River Park Meadows. This is fantastic news for our meadows!

And there's more! Ealing Council will also be undertaking a mow in the next couple of days, carefully cutting the most neglected areas of Warren Farm's coarser growth to help protect the precious acid and neutral grassland. Proper meadow maintenance that involves cutting is extremely important as it creates the best possible conditions for our red-listed nesting skylarks who are facing UK extinction and it ensures our rewilded urban meadow continues to flower.

This is very encouraging news because this is one of the aspirations of the BRCS Warren Farm Vision and it shows not only the good working relationship between Ealing Council and the BRCS, but it also gives us hope that, with a show of enough support on our petition, that the council will be open to starting a conversation to collectively grant our meadows Local Nature Reserve designation.

Ealing Council have just shown us that they do care about Warren Farm and the biodiversity here. Now we need them to acknowledge the species records and to designate Warren Farm Nature Reserve and the surrounding BRP Meadows with Local Nature Reserve status.
