Indefinitely Ban Fortnite/COD skins and remove existing ones in Battlefield 2042
Das Anliegen
Battlefield 2042 has recently added at least a Santa skin, Christmas skins for Vehicles, and a Cowboy skin.
At least the following skins are planed for Battlefield 2042 in the near future:
- A lumberjack,
- Muertos-themes one (skill mask with black and purple carnival outfit),
- a clown (a bit toned down, but similar to Apex's Caustic clown),
- a Sundance skin with some WW2-looking google
- and wait for it... a medieval knight. (Source: Tom Henderson.)
The skins that have already been added were in the March 2021 QA feedback sessions, in which everyone voted them down - but EA added them anyways.(Source: Tom Henderson.)
The problem with those skins is that the unique atmosphere of fighting in a believable battle, that we appreciate and love the Battlefield fanchise for, will be gone forever. Many more Fortnite / Call of Duty like skins will be added if we don't act now.
One user on reddit describes the feelings of the playerbase quite well:
"Dice expects me to be able to take the game seriously with literal santa claus running around shooting people in what's supposed to be a world where billions are displaced, natural disasters are destroying the planet, and there's about to be a massive world proxy war—and we're supposed to take all that into account with santa fucking claus running around on the battlefield.
Holy identity crisis."

This will destroy the battlefield brand as we know it.
EA and Dice are completely disconnected from the Battlefield player base.
Since the backlash in the community, EA has since said that they presently have no plans to utilize all of these skins this Holiday (Source: https://twitter.com/BFBulletin/status/1466530692268011535 BUT THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
If we do not make our voices heard, Battlefield as we know it will cease to exist. We do not want Fortnite. We do not want Call of Duty. We want Battlefield.
Sign the petition today to show EA / Dice that they are about to destroy the franchise. This must stop now.
