As students, we should choose how we would like to learn and be willing to put our health on the line for it. If students come together to achieve one thing, then maybe the governor will listen to us. Cases before resuming in-person learning were still high. However, they are getting higher now that students are in school, class capacities haven’t changed, clusters naturally form, and vaccinated and non-vaccinated students are still testing positive for Covid-19. Now that there are new strands to Covid, the governor needs to know that we aren’t just going to snap back into how life used to be when we now have even more chances of getting infected. This petition is fighting for the students and teachers in North Carolina who are concerned about their own health being put at risk due to the forcing of students returning to in-person learning and for parents that feel that their input should have been considered when Governor Roy Cooper decided to force students to return to in-person learning. Would you please help show Governor Roy Cooper that our parent’s voices, our teacher’s voices, and most importantly, our voices matter? Thank you.
