As a forensic psychiatric nurse with decades of experience, I have witnessed firsthand the devastating consequences of unchecked pathology in individuals wielding power. While I am not permitted to diagnose public figures, I can recognize dangerous behavioral patterns—and what we are seeing from Donald Trump is deeply alarming.

Trump does not govern the United States rationally. He reacts from emotion, impulsivity, and a narcissistic worldview where everything is framed as "winning" or "losing." His unpredictability makes him fundamentally untrustworthy on the global stage. Cooperation with such a leader is impossible because there is no consistency, no reliability, and no respect for the rules-based order that has maintained global stability for decades.

The consequences are already unfolding before our eyes. His blind support for Israel’s escalation in Iran has ignited a global energy crisis, driving up costs worldwide and destabilizing economies. Worse, he is dragging allies like NATO into conflicts they were never designed to fight. NATO is a defensive alliance, not an instrument for U.S.-led wars. By weaponizing these partnerships, Trump is eroding the trust that has held the international community together since World War II.

But the damage doesn’t stop there. Trump’s reckless actions are undermining the U.S. dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency. Global confidence in the dollar is not infinite—it depends on stability, trust, and responsible leadership. If that trust collapses, the economic fallout will be catastrophic, not just for the world, but for the U.S. itself. With America’s astronomical national debt, a sudden loss of faith in the dollar could trigger an economic freefall—fast, brutal, and irreversible.

The United States deserves better. The world deserves better.

This is not about politics. It is about survival—economic survival, geopolitical survival, and the survival of the democratic values we hold dear. Trump is not just a danger to America; he is a danger to global order.
