Next Steps: Write to the Mayor!

We did it! Over 70 people attended the City Council meeting Wednesday night. The public sentiment was clear and strong. It made a big difference to show up. The next step: let the Mayor of Bloomington, John Hamilton, know how you feel about the substation. He has been lukewarm on this issue to date. We need him to advocate strongly for our city's future. Mayor Hamilton needs to make it clear to Duke that while we recognize the need for a substation, we are requesting that Duke consider solutions for urban locations in the 21st century. These can include an architectural facade that blocks sound and that enhances, rather than detracts from, its surroundings. The Rogers/11th intersection anchors the city's future development. Let's get it right! Please email Mayor Hamilton at: mayor@bloomington.in.gov Your email can be as short as one line. Mayor Hamilton needs to hear from all of us that we care about the very negative impact this substation would have on the future vitality of the city and the adjacent neighborhoods. Thank you!
