The Dublin City Lido, George's Dock, Campaign needs your help to fundraise for a NEW REALISTIC DESIGN.

You originally signed this petition in 2021 when the campaign was in its early days. Since then steady progress has been made towards providing Dubliners with a beautiful inclusive outdoor swimming facility and green space at George's Dock. Furthermore two exceptional Irish swimmers, Daniel Wiffen and Mona Mc Sharry, have just won medals at the Paris Olympics.  

In 2023 the campaign presented its conceptual plans and images to Dublin City Councillors. The councillors were very enthusiastic about our plans for an inclusive swimming facility and green space, and felt that the proposal should be advanced. 

We then had a meeting with Dublin City managers and they provided comprehensive feedback. At the time our plans were still at a conceptual phase. They concluded that in order for them to engage any further with the proposal a more rigorous feasibility and design process would be required.

We believe Dublin deserves an ambitious inclusive amenity at George's Dock. We also believe a Lido is an entirely realistic and achievable goal. SO WE ARE TAKING THE CAMPAIGN TO THE NEXT LEVEL. 

We’ve nearly completed an EXPERT FEASIBILITY STUDY which is indicating an optimal design for Dublin City Lido which satisfies planning requirements, and will ensure the project is economically and operationally viable.

This is where we need your help again. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, so without a NEW REALISTIC DESIGN that reflects the recommendations of our feasibility study it will be very difficult to convince politicians and city managers to make this project happen.
