Thanks to you, we had a huge day today!

Special thanks to everyone who signed our petition today! We passed 320 a few minutes ago. One great thing about where we are right now is that we have identified and brought together a large base of people. Each new person should be able to hook us up with at least a couple more folks. The ripple effect of this kind of process is extraordinarily powerful. Think about it this way -- it's taken us three weeks to get to 322 signatures. If each person could now find just ONE more person and do it by the end of tomorrow, we'd have 644. This is what we are counting on to propel our movement forward. We were also advantaged by the news this week from the CML board and the coverage of that in the Dublin This Week newspaper. Both of those documents are circulating online. We can hope that the implications of CML pulling out of the project if it's not approved on April 24 are starting to sink in with many people throughout the city. A few final thoughts as we head into the last week of our campaign: Building the new CML-Dublin library is the right thing to do. This extraordinary building will help maintain the economic and social vitality of downtown Dublin and will benefit the local community in many ways for generations to come. If the Dublin community rejects this important civic project because a few residents don't like contemporary architecture, this would be a significant retreat from the forward-thinking principles that have made the city what it is today. Moving backward can also lead to unintended consequences. It would send a destructive message to other community nonprofits, as well as potential business partners. And what will the future of our community be if it gets a reputation as a place where forward thinking people are not appreciated and their investments in our community are rejected? It's time for all Dubliners to unite behind this project. Ask your family members, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to join us. As always, thanks for all you do!
