Chapelizod is beautiful historic village only 6km from the city centre. It has expanded rapidly with a number of new developments nearing completion. There has been a big influx of young families and there are two crèches at full capacity in the village. Our nearest playgrounds are in Ballyfermott which are not a safe walking distance for the young kids and toddlers of the village.
30 years ago there were two playgrounds in the village. Sadly over the years like a lot of our village they were not maintained and as a result were removed by DCC.
The village is thriving again with the tidy towns out in force, the village square and bridge having had a facelift in recent years and there are two new coffee shops that have injected a great sense of community into the heart of the village. There is huge demand for a playground.  We are asking DCC to invest in our village and keep the momentum of restoration in the village alive by building a new playground for the children of Chapelizod.
