The Issue
EMERGENCY helplines like 100, 101, 102, 1098 (child helpline) save millions of life every day. Isn't the accessibility to these helplines a BASIC right of EVERY citizen of this country? Unfortunately, these helplines are of NO USE to DEAF as yet.
Just imagine a deaf child getting sexually abused, even if knows about child helpline 1098, how he/she will communicate and get the required help? ?
What if a deaf person wants to call an AMBULANCE (102) or get the help from POLICE (100) , what he/she will do? IMAGINE!!
A simple CHANGE can help one of the most vulnerable section of society SAFE.
We need VRS (video relay service) or video call service through sign language interpreter 24/7. Thats all!
