We are happy to announce that on July 29, MP, Shri Shankar Lalwani gave us the official letter from the Ministry of Social Justice and Welfare confirming that they have assigned ‘14456’ as the dedicated FIVE digit helpline for deaf.

In a letter dated 9th May 2023 Hon'ble Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar ji outlined their plan to develop a new helpline, keeping in mind the needs of persons with disabilities. As per the letter, efforts will be made to integrate this helpline with all other existing emergency helplines like, police, ambulance, child helpline etc. 

We are extremely grateful to Dr. Virendra Kumar ji, for actively listening to and responding to citizen voices. Sir, your support will ensure that in times of crisis, no one is left behind! 

I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to MP Shri Shankar Lalwani ji for being a strong advocate for the community. I sincerely hope that just like in Indore, we soon have an active national helpline as well that is accessible to all.
