Dear signers,
Our efforts are finally starting to get recognised. I have a very big news to share with you all!
On 26th December, Young Indians Indore and the Police Commissionerate of Indore announced an emergency helpline for the deaf with a video calling and text facility.
The helpline - 75876- 32133 - has been been launched and I could not be happier. It is the first such helpline to be introduced in the country and it is operational in Indore.
Friends, thanks to this helpline, if a deaf person is caught in an emergency, she/he can reach out for help. A sign language interpreter assigned for this number can help them with the next steps.
This is a huge step in the right direction and I hope that such inclusive helplines are launched in other parts of the country too.
Last month, I had discussed this issue with the Honourable Union Minister, Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr Virendra Kumar ji. And I highlighted the need for such a helpline.
I request you to continue sharing this petition so that our voice grows louder and reaches the government.
This wouldn’t have been possible without your support.
Thank you for signing my petition and ensuring that this demand gets heard.
With gratitude,
Naina Navlani
