Drop the Charges Against the Cal Poly Humboldt Protesters Now!!!
The Issue
Roughly 32 people, including students, community members, and faculty were arrested during the recent protests for Palestine at Cal Poly Humboldt. Protesting genocide is not a crime and these protesters should not be treated as criminals. The protest began as a peaceful sit-in and was met with immediate police violence, with some students even being hospitalized. We believe that pressing charges against these students is not only unjust, but also a massive waste of our public funds and resources for Humboldt County. These students have already been through enough trauma and violence after heroically standing up against the mass murder of men, women, children, and entire families. The greater community is strongly against any charges being directed at these protesters and we demand that the charges be dropped as soon as possible.
