Strong decision-making abilities and a sincere dedication to public service are qualities that leaders should have.

The candidacy of Apollo Quiboloy for the Senate is deeply concerning. His involvement in the election undermines the credibility of our democratic system considering that he is a fugitive facing serious allegations of human trafficking, child exploitation, and financial fraud. Allowing someone with such accusations to run for public office sends an alarming message, that individuals facing severe criminal charges can seek power without accountability. Allowing an accused criminal to hold a government position will have severe consequences, especially for victims of abuse and corruption. Ordinary Filipinos who rely on the government to protect their rights would believe that allowing these kinds of people to run for office undermines justice. His candidacy not only weakens public trust in the justice system and discourages victims from seeking legal assistance but also damages the country’s reputation by indicating tolerance for impunity and corruption at the highest levels of government. The people should be led by morally upright people, not by those who use their political ties and religious beliefs to avoid justice.

Ignoring this issue will set an unacceptable example for future elections, signaling that wealth and power can override accountability. It would make it possible for individuals with unresolved criminal cases to seek public office without scrutiny, which would increase corruption, weakening democratic institutions, and endangering the welfare of Filipino citizens. Also, prohibiting him from running would strengthen the idea that public service is a privilege reserved for people of integrity, not a way for the accused to avoid justice. This decision will shape the nation’s future, choosing whether we maintain justice or allow corruption to continue endlessly.

The future of our nation depends on the choices we make today. With the 2025 elections quickly approaching, urgent action must be taken before it is too late. The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and relevant authorities must conduct a comprehensive investigation into Quiboloy's eligibility and take quick action to prevent him from making use of a government position as a shield from justice. Let us not turn a blind eye to injustice or let those seeking power misuse our democratic systems for personal benefit. We encourage all concerned Filipinos to take an action against corruption, impunity, and abuse of power. Our votes influence the future, we must elect leaders who will serve with honesty, integrity, and a commitment to the people. It's time to take action  before another unworthy candidate succeeds in position and further undermines public faith in the government.
