Re-Release Dreamworks Animation's Trolls 2: World Tour in Theatres on a Later Date
Re-Release Dreamworks Animation's Trolls 2: World Tour in Theatres on a Later Date
The issue
Some movies are being pushed back to later dates even when they're completed and ready to release, some movies still released during the corona virus outbreak and released on Digital Media the same day, and some movies despite looking as if they're made for the big screen moved to become Streaming Service Originals. In case anyone's confused, the sequel to Trolls from Dreamworks Animation did not become a no show for theatres, it's releasing on digital media and in theatres simultaneously on the same day. I'm sure we all remember for one that Dreamworks Animation only do theatrical films, even the spinoffs to the Shrek and Madagascar franchises after having been originally intended to release straight-to-dvd ended up becoming part of Dreamworks Animations official line up, this was likely the case because of how odd it would've been for the animation studio to have films of there's that didn't release theatrically like all their others.
Even though Trolls 2 is releasing on digital media early, it still released outside North America in theatres before the announcements of the corona virus delaying movies no problem, some parts of the world like Australia where I live even delayed the films release to around September when the corona virus is expected to be over by. Sometime once the corona virus is over, they should consider re-releasing Trolls 2 in theatres to help it gross better then it did at the time of the pandemic, which is one thing for certain that could help boost the possibilities of being a 3rd Trolls film if Dreamworks Animation had been interest in doing such.
Someone even did a petition about Onward from Pixar re-releasing in theatres sometime after the corona virus pandemic has ended, I'm sure Dreamworks Animation wouldn't mind doing the same thing for Trolls 2 if indeed other animation studios like Pixar end up doing so with their 2020 films, good luck I say either way to any film that does end up doing so: https://www.change.org/p/the-walt-disney-company-re-release-disney-pixar-s-onward
