Gators for a Sanctuary Campus
23 Feb 2017
Our fears of mistreatment towards undocumented immigrants are being met with action by the Trump Administration. Recently, steps have been taken by the White House and the Department of Homeland Security to expand their capabilities for mass deportations. With the hiring of 10,000 additional US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and the targeting of undocumented immigrants who have committed any level of crime, including protected immigrants under DACA, it is imperative that the University of Florida adopt policies to ensure the safety of its undocumented community.
We continue to ask that you communicate the message of our campaign to your peers for the support needed in these upcoming discussions with those capable of changing UF for the better, by establishing the university as a Sanctuary Campus.

Although it is easy for cynicism to consume our fight, Gators for a Sanctuary Campus is proud to announce that the Assistant Vice President of Students Affairs has arranged a meeting to discuss how the University of Florida can expand their protective policies to undocumented students this Friday. The dialogue between students and administrators is crucial for us all to reach our goals to protect the vulnerable members of our campus, so we must hold steady now more than ever.
