These mooring are in use nearly all the year round. Yacht clubs use this when returning from racing on Barton Broad, Hire boat use this on change over day.  It is also used as a safe haven when fog or wind makes crosing Barton Broad unsafe .

It is one of the few public mooring between Stalham and How Hill that has enough space for large numbers of boats to socialise at any times.
