When asked what the plan was for the name change, HCPS responded that their concerns lied with helping provide for a good transition into the new school year. It's now almost a month into the school year, and I feel that transition has more than completed. Now, we're taking our cause to them. The school board will be holding a public forum on Thursday, September 28th starting at 6:30 at the New Bridge Learning Center, 5915 Nine Mile Road, Henrico, Virginia. I will be speaking there and before I do I am asking you all to do two things. 1) Try and share the petition with anyone you think may have not seen it. If we can even make the jump from 860 to 900 signatures, it could make a big difference in helping make our case. Posting, emailing, texting, calling, and otherwise sharing really does make an impact. 2) If you can, show up to the meeting and share your story or reason you support the petition. I know that it can be inconvenient for many, but if anyone can come it will have a big affect on the school board members. Thanks for the constant support, and I hope to see many of you on Thursday.
