Email the Atlanta Regional Commission & Tell Them To Deny Douglas County the CMAQ!

GA House Bill 930 has been approved which means a regional transit authority will be formed which includes Douglas County. However, in order to get funding, citizens will need to vote on whether the county can add a 1% sales tax. This new transit authority makes the transit system that Douglas County is trying to propose, well, useless. Go to the Atlanta Regional Commission meeting on April 12 and RAISE YOUR VOICE! Make sure you let them know that the BOC has NOT voted on the two routes that were added by the urging of the ARC. In addition, a feasibility study was NOT done, so the county has no idea how much it will cost them and doesn't even have a price for fares. ARC must receive comments prior to midnight on this date in order to be considered in the official record of comments. There will be an opportunity to present comment verbally at a public hearing taking place during the Transportation and Air Quality Committee held at ARC Conference Center on April 12, 2018 at 10:30 am. A summary of all comments received during the period and responses to those comments will be presented to ARC’s technical and policy committees and the ARC Board for their consideration before taking action on the Planning Action Amendment.
