Reposting this... We are the DCPAC (Douglas County Peoples' Action Committee). DCPAC is dedicated to holding our elected officials accountable. Douglas County is facing a number of fiscal issues. We are committed to keeping the people in our community informed, and to raise money towards our mission. At this time, DCPAC is working to STOP the new multi modal/bus transportation system proposed by the DC Board of Commissioners. Kelly Robinson and Ramona Jackson-Jones have made their decision to vote YES and accept the CMAQ grant. The CMAQ grant is a federal grant. If we accept these funds we are locked into the proposed bus system and the 4 routes. The initial project has been completely misrepresented, with original operating cost of $100,000 per year. The current estimated cost has been projected to be at least $2,000,000 per year. Please help us raise the necessary funds to obtain legal counsel and applicable expenses to STOP this fiscally irresponsible behavior by our elected officials on the DC Board of Commissioners. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. ONCE THE BOC VOTES TO APPROVE THE GRANT, WE WILL BE OBLIGATED TO THE FOUR ROUTE BUS SYSTEM.
