~ Resolution in support of locating a Drivers License Renewal Center in Douglas County. Having a drivers license renewal center in Douglas County would better serve our citizens rather than having to travel to surrounding counties. This resolution will be presented to our local delegation showing the BOC's support for the center.
~ Authorization to file a grant application with the Atlanta Regional Commission for federal funds for the Senior Adult and Disabled Individual Transportation Voucher Program for the period July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019. The Multi-Modal Transportation Services Division receives federal Section 5310 funds to help operate its voucher program for senior adults and disabled individuals. Currently, the program is funded through June 30, 2018. This grant application is for operating funds from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019. Douglas County is requesting $87,184 in federal funds which will require a local match of $59,296. The $87,184 in federal funds includes an 80 percent match for a full-time Mobility Coordinator and a part-time Voucher Clerk (20 hours a week). The Voucher Clerk would assume a considerable portion of the paperwork duties, which will free-up the Mobility Coordinator to recruit new clients and be more involved with them. Adding the Voucher Clerk would enable the Voucher Program to add 30 clients. The grant request also includes $50,000, which is a 50 percent match for voucher sales to clients. The Voucher Clerk is a new position. It will be a contract position, based on availability of grant funds. If the grant expires, the county has the option of dissolving the position.
