The problems with Tarion continue. Here's one more example:

Ontario MPP Tom Rakocevic recently rose in the Ontario Legislature, and spoke about ongoing problems with Tarion, including the process regarding filing a claim with Tarion. Here is a link with a brief video clip of some of MPP Rakocevic's remarks - please see the most recent item for 2026:

Sadly, these serious issues are nothing new. 

Despite:

• Justice Cunningham's recommendation in 2016 to the Ontario Government to end Tarion's monopoly;
• The scathing Auditor General of Ontario's report related to Tarion in 2019;
• A change in Tarion CEO in 2020 (promoted from within);
• The Ford Government's tinkering around the edges of Tarion since 2018...;

....Ontario's new home purchasers continue to continue to face serious problems with Tarion.

Many new home purchasers give up on Tarion after they initially file a claim - or don't bother to turn to Tarion at all for help getting their defective homes repaired. 

As CPBH has said for many years now, Tarion is beyond repair.

It's time to listen to Justice Cunningham and end Tarion's monopoly.
