The Ford Government would like us to believe that they have made changes to Tarion that help homeowners. But Frank McInnes's battle tells us otherwise.

It took him four years, but Frank persevered and ended up with the maximum payout Tarion offered for a home built before 2023- $300,000. Congratulations to Frank and his family! (CPBH was honoured to have played a small part in Frank's significant accomplishment.)

Frank spoke out on X/Twitter today:  "homeowners should know that the $ we received was our $ spent to repair over 40 OBC defects. Fighting for yrs to get your own $ back should never happen if there is truly a consumer protection agency . There’s not Tarion/HCRA broken!"

This is a prime example of why Tarion's monopoly needs to end. No one should have to go through what Frank and his family did.

PS: HCRA is the Home Construction Regulatory Authority that was created when Tarion was stripped of its regulator role in 2021. But there are now major problems with HCRA as well. Some call HCRA "Tarion2".
