In 2000, 16 years ago, the Chair and Vice-Chairs of the Building Regulatory Reform Advisory Group (BRRAG) reported to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing that they favoured a competitive environment for Ontario’s new home warranty. Their report said “based on advice of insurers and builders, that lower premiums are a likely result of the proposed approach”. Three other provinces -- BC, Alberta and Manitoba -- have multiple warranty providers – not monopolies. Give Ontarians a choice! Is there one good reason to keep a new home warranty monopoly in Ontario? No! Keep those signatures coming! We are close to 500 signatures! Please help us get there!
