On February 4, 2016 many students at Richlands High School in Richlands Virginia were humiliated and embarrassed to say the least. The Principal of RHS, Kim Ringstaff went into the lunch room and had the student body to become quiet while she degraded, humiliated, embarrassed etc...the students who had a balance on their lunch account.

They were told that if they drove through the McDonalds they would not be able to eat for free therefore they could not eat for free in the lunch room. The students trays were then removed from them by the lunch ladies with tears streaming down their faces and thrown in the trash and of course they had to comply with the request of RHS principal Kim Ringstaff in order to keep their jobs.

This cannot and should not be tolerated in our public school systems. If we do not stand up for our children no one else will. Nothing, RHS or Tazewell County School board says or does, can or will correct this however with the resignation of Kim Ringstaff and any others involved in the decision to remove the trays from these students effective immediately will be a start in the right direction. Let's stand together Tazewell County.
